Life at Miami University

Often referred to as the “Harvard of Ohio,” Miami University is located in the charming city Oxford. Oxford is a “college town” so you can bet students are finding big ways to have fun in this small city! During the winter months, by far the most popular thing to do is attending Miami Redhawk hockey games! Miami students take pride in their athletics and you’ll often see students sleeping at the Goggin Ice Center the night before a big game to make sure they get the best seat in the house.

Things To Do in Oxford, OH

Since Oxford is a small town, it’s helpfl that students have created hundreds of organizations and clubs.  A lot of late night activities are held in the Community Center, some activities include movies in the Wilks Theater or swing dances held by the Swing club. Greek Life is huge (and a cause for the competitive leasing cycle! Greeks run a ton of Oxford houses in Ohio.) so consider rushing for a sorority or frat, it’s a great way to meet fellow students! Getting involved in intramural sports is also big on campus. Broomball is by far the most popular club sport and draws in hundreds of students for the games, and they even tailgate for them! If you want to get off campus, students head to Uptown for food, shopping, and going out on the town!
