Things to do

Frostburg may be on the smaller side but that doesn’t stop FSU students from having lots of activities to participate in both on and off-campus! Across the FSU serene campus, there is so much to do. Frostburg State plays host to several concerts, festivals, and a monthly themed party called Late@Lane held in the Lane University Center. Students can also connect with their fellow peers by joining on the of the many clubs or rushing for a sorority or fraternity.  If you’re into sports be sure to go cheer on one of the 22 NCAA Division II sports teams during your years at Frostburg State.

Students love to head off-campus to get a break from studies and explore the town! Heading downtown students can grab food, drinks (do a wine tasting at Toasted Goat Winery), or catch a show at the Palace Theater. For all history buffs, check out the Carriage Museum or take a tour at the Evergreen Heritage House. Get of the town  and enjoy the great outdoors by exploring the Allegheny Mountains or Dans Mountain State Park where you can swim, snowboard, hike and more!

The Cordts Physical Education Center is a popular spot for students to engage in several physical activities with one another. There are numerous intramural sports to get involved in soccer to football and everything in between. Frostburg State students also have access to the many indoor and outdoor fields and spots courts, swimming pool, and a fitness facilities where you can participate in individual or group workouts.

Being that Frostburg is surrounded by the Allegheny Mountains, Frostburg students are no strangers to the outdoors. To escape the stresses of school and clear their heads, students often head to the mountains and state parks like Dans Mounting. Skiing, canoeing, whitewater rafting, biking, or just hiking the trails are favored activities for students.
